What do surfing (衝浪), skateboarding(滑板), stand up paddling(立槳), windsurfing (風浪), foiling (風翼), spearfishing (打魚), music and film all have in common? They all take you into a state of flow. Like an 80s mixed tape, packed with a variety of genres, MixTapeVol2 , filmed around Dulan, Taitung on Taiwan’s east coast, follows the usual suspects (Gabe Gras and others), above and below the ocean surface. Yong-yi Chen explains the story behind Outlet Drift’s music video ‘Lady of the Ocean’. Legend Peter Brown, storm survivor and buffalo rider, conjures up some Southern-style Pidgin Chinglish hip/country mashup experiment never before seen or heard on Youtube (and maybe for the best). Nobody does it quite like Pete does.😂 Then throw in some wind sports, rare footage of Taitung’s top spearfishmen doing what they do with one breath, a backyard ramp (punkrock!), and Dulan misfits ATOA performing ‘Pretty Birds’ live on the WGLG rooftop, and you’ve got a DIY mixtape not to be missed!
